For beginners, all equipment will be provided. If you or your child decide to continue with fencing you will be asked to buy your own mask and uniform, but you only need to have sneakers and long pants for the first term you fence. PPE masks are required at all times as well. No experience is necessary!
For novices, it is a class structure, with various features of fencing being covered each week so students should attend to every class in their class. Students may not mix and match classes without prior consent from Five Points Fencing Academy. No refunds for missed classes. Students are welcome (even encouraged) to attend more than one class per week.
All genders are welcome to fence and we run classes together. For children we will group the same age groups together. Classes are run in a team building environment so all fencers develop with each other to their own ability. Emphasis is on a positive and cooperative space where students also learn to compete and improve their physical skill and intellectual abilities.
Please note the age ranges are not hard deadlines. We recognize that kids grow and mature at different rates and we try to group fencers with similar sized people to foster a positive environment.
Fees 2023-2024 Season:
Membership at Five Points Fencing Academy is as follows:
$135/month - Once a Week Classes - We recognize that not everyone may want to fence more than one day per week, or may just be looking to try out fencing. This is the perfect option! If your child would like to fence more then we can add a second class for $60 ($195 total).
$145/month - Open Fencing - For adults and older teen fencers instead of taking classes Five Points will be offering open fencing several days per week. Fencers can fence as much as they like during this time and Coach Rob will be available for private lessons. The Saturday afternoon tactical session is included in Open Fencing.
$205/month - Competitive Program - this program is for fencers who are interested in competing in tournaments. For this program, we will have a class on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Fencers must attend kids at least two of these classes. This program will do more drills, footwork, and activities to prepare for competitions and attend the in-house competition for no extra charge.
In addition, all fencers must have an Access Level ($29) membership with USA Fencing. For private lessons, please contact Coach Rob directly.
To register, please email Coach Rob at rob@fivepointsfencing.com
